Review highlights
Based on 696 reviewsCasa Catedral | Restaurante in Panama City is widely praised for its unique and charming colonial atmosphere, creating an inviting and memorable dining experience. Customers frequently highlight the warm and attentive service, which contributes to a family-like ambiance. The restaurant’s interior and live music events, such as bolero nights, add cultural richness and enhance the overall vibe. Food quality receives mixed feedback: many guests appreciate the flavorful and thoughtfully prepared dishes, especially appetizers and signature drinks like sangria, noted for their distinctiveness and appeal. However, some patrons find certain menu items inconsistent in taste, and occasional delays in service have been reported. Pricing is generally viewed as fair for the experience offered. Overall, Casa Catedral stands out for its combination of ambiance, cultural authenticity, and friendly service, making it a favored destination despite some variability in food and timing.
This a must come restaurant. This Is the best restaurant in Panama City. The owner and all the waiters treat you like family. The ambiance and the taste of the foods are magical. The drinks are delicious, very unique and they stay on your pallet. The food is so delicious and tasty. There is so much love that is poor into the preparation of the food from the kitchen. Ask Gabriel the bartender to make you his famous drinks. Best cocktails I have had in the entire world. Trust me I have travel to many places. Gabriel has some of the best drinks I have ever tasted. I will be returning to this restaurant many more times in the future. I want you all to come experience the magic of this place.
Great restaurant, highly recommended! The service, presentation, and the taste of the food are top-notch. On top of that, the restaurant’s interior is truly unique. I genuinely recommend it to everyone who not only wants to eat well but also appreciates food presentation. The service is incredibly friendly. An amazing place and, so far, the best restaurant we’ve dined at in Panama!
We celebrated my mother's very special birthday at this restaurant museum. They were having bolero night that particular night with some amazing musicians who sang all of the songs that were special to her. We danced, sang, ate, and drank sangrias all night. The appetizers were exquisite! The restaurant is located in the colonial district in Panamá City. The old structure of the building and the antique cars transports one to a different moment in history.
Very unique atmosphere, the music and the ambience are awesome! The food is tasty, some dishes more than the others: pancakes, French toast and arepas are really nice. Omelette and catedral breakfast really lack flavor. The service is slow, we had to remind the staff of our food twice. The prices are fair, we paid 90 USD for 5 people. They claim they have valet parking but the street is usually closed to cars, so I recommend you park elsewhere or Uber there.
We were in a restaurant for lunchtime. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Original interior. We liked sangria, tasty and really sooooo good. The food was OK, I didn't really like it, because the meat was dry, but french fry just perfect.
Beautiful atmosphere, perfectly selected music, and incredible skirt steak tacos. We went back for dinner and ordered the Roosevelt steak salad and mushroom risotto. There was a funny taste in the risotto and a cheese on the salad. My partner ate most of the risotto and had a very upset gut all night which kept him awake. We should have returned it immediately.
My partner and I decided to try Casa Catedral today. Located on a quiet side street near the Canal Museum, it provides a unique atmosphere blending a museum with a restaurant. Our waiter seated us promptly, provided us with the menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. We started with two cocktails that seemed to be a bit on the pricey side ($12), although when we saw their creativity we understood why. Kudos to the mixologist. My meal of grilled octopus on a bed of mashed potatoes looked appealing and tasted even better. The octopus was the most tender I have had in Panama City. My partner’s meal of salmon and asparagus was equally tasty, with the salmon grilled to perfection. We ended the meal with a creamy slice of warm cheesecake with berry sauce. Sublime. A great restaurant option that offers nightly music events on Thursday and Friday evenings. An impressive foodie haunt that begs a return visit.
